Possibly the loudest library Ive ever been in (staff mainly to blame for this, shouting across the room to one another)
Very nice library, took less than 5 minutes to do my membership and I was helped by a member of staff named Ernell which was very professional and very friendly. Definitely reccomend this place!!
I've been here several times for Cinnamon Press (and affiliated Cinnamon London) readings and book events, hosted and organised by Irena Hill's In-words limited. It is an excellent venue, particularly notable for its spaciousness, dedicated staff and domed atrium. It has a fantastic collection of books and is well located.
I would describe this library as "atypical". There's absolutely no respect for the principle of a quiet place to study from many of its visitors. It seems to have become somewhat of an IT Helpdesk as visitors can't get on to the Wi-Fi network. Last week, I witnessed one of the staff painfully attempting to help a local do some shopping on amazon. As I write this, some sort of assistance is being given in an apparent social services issue. There's a distinct community centre theme here which might not appeal to everyone. I think they're selling off the dvd's to keep the place open. The site offers fantastic classes for kids, and when it's open, its ideal to come and do some work for half a day.The better library is the East Greenwich location but obvious underfunding set aside, Greenwich wouldn't be the same without this library.
