Overpriced. Paid 40+ for their 2 course set menu... Got a side plate of oiled veg for starter, no bread or anything, and an over cooked steak for main and hardly any spinach/greens. They didn't offer a no wine option so non-drinkers had to pay for wine. Atmosphere was nice. Staff good. Overall wouldn't go back though.
Stylishly simple Argentinian restaurant with pretty garden orangery. Great South American meat dishes, desserts and excellent wines served well in a really pleasant atmosphere. Makes me want to visit Argentina!
Meat Lovers Paradise. A vegan hell! So good went back a second evening for the mixed grill for two which was delicious too. Sure, above average pricing but this is London. It was worth it. Loved it.
Reasonable food in comfortable surroundings. I really enjoyed the grilled cheese and black pudding starters. But I can never understand how steak restaurants (and steaks are theoretically the stars here) get steaks wrong. The formula should be simple:1. Listen attentively to the order and write it down. Ask for confirmation if needed. 2. Cook the steak to the internationally recognised standard and serve.A few places have cracked it. This place, like so many others, has not.Somebody call Stuart Tattersall! It's an emergency!
It's pretty much one of those cases of a highly rated place that didn't deliver. The essence of this place are supposed to be the succulent and tender steaks. To my disappointment the rump steak that I tried was nothing but chewy. It was cooked to my preference (medium well) but the meat itself was not worth the hype. On the other hand the service was polite and accomodating, struggling however to maneuver the tight space between the table. Overall this was a below average experience that I cannot recommend.
